* Raymond Joseph Petters
75, of Dade City, Fla., passed away Monday, February 22, 2010, in Dade City. Born February 18, 1935, in Dade City to Charles Joseph and Emma Gude Petters, he was a lifelong area resident and dedicated farmer.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and was active with the Cattlemen' s Association and the Watermelon Association.
He is survived by his children, Randall Joseph Petters, Linda Gail Renicke, Karen Jeanette Petters and Kathy Allison; three sisters, Ruth Stewart, Leona Bircher and Hilda Osburn; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and his fiancee, Donna Hatton.
He was preceded in death by one son, Christopher Allan Petters.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday, February 25, 2010, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The family will receive friends for viewing 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at the church.

** Magdalen Irene Coverly
(August 28, 1928 - February 15, 2008)
79, of Williamstown, NJ, passed away Friday, February 15th at home surrounded by her family. She was born Magdalen I. Petters on August 28, 1928 in San Antonio, Florida to Emma Gude' and Charles J. Petters.
It was at a USO church social that she met her ‘Soldier Boy’, the late Charles E. Coverly, and in 1946 married and soon moved to Blackwood Terrace.
Then in 1960 on to Williamstown, where they raised their five children, Charles P. Coverly, the late Kathryn E. Scott, Lucinda A. Angelucci, Barry Lee Coverly, Sr. and Pamela R. Coverly. The couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary before Charles passed away. Magdalen is also survived by her loving and devoted sisters, Hildegarde Osburn of Campbell, NY, Leona Bircher and husband, Al of Harrisburg, PA and Ruth Stewart of Hernando, Fla., her brother, Raymond Petters of St. Joseph, Florida, along with many nieces and nephews and her eleven grandchildren; Chuck Coverly, Melissa Aletich, Amy Lancetta, Gina DeFiore, Cara Angelucci, Vincent Angelucci, Barry Lee Coverly, Jason Coverly, Megan Coverly, Ashley DeStefano and Joseph Hurff, Jr. and four great-grandchildren.
Magdalen was an accomplished seamstress, delighting family members young and old alike with handcrafted gifts from quilts to prom gowns. She loved gardening, was regarded as a great cook, and was a geography and history buff.
Two brothers, Ernest C. Petters, and Clement Petters, both of Florida, and one sister, Anna Clark of Hornell, NY, preceded her in death.
Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Wednesday, February 20, 2008 10am at the Farnelli Funeral Home, 504 N. Main Street, Williamstown, where a service will follow at 11 AM. Burial at Berlin Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Kathryn E. Scott Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o Williamstown High School.
