WOW!!! And I always believed "The Lord will not give you more than He knows you can handle"... He's really putting me to the test with this magnificent gift you all sent me! "Thanks" doesn't begin to tell you how very much I appreciate all the love the quilts show!

I spent my birthday in Kuwait, flew down 9PM on the 10 and got back here 0330 this morning (12th). I had not opened any of my gifts that I had received, saving them for the birthday, giving me something to look forward to. So, since the flight back had been so awesome, crystal clear night on a C35 Jet, watching the Perseid meteor shower across the backdrop of the vividly apparant Milky Way, I was a bit restless and decided to go ahead and open the gifts. Jennifer and Michael sent a super card signed by all the Petters clan, to include the little ones with their own handwriting, what a heartwarming thing, a wonderful pampering bowl of shower gels and scented candles, and a Jimmy Buffet Margarettaville T'shirt, which I love and made my heart smile. Then I opened the CDs from Aunt Cinda and Uncle Ben, what an AWESOME collection of CDs! I can't wait to listen to all of them. Of course, they sent a dozen so it took quite a while to go through and check them out... by this time I was starting to fade a little, knowing I had to come to work by 8 this morning, I thought about waiting to open the rest. I then realized that I might as well open them, or my mind would be wondering and I wouldn't sleep anyway. So, the bag of cosmetics was opened next, again from Aunt Cinda and Uncle Ben (they always do too much!) Next was the bag from Aunts Melda and Paula and Uncle Jack and Ralph, what a great card and the candle and key chain are awesome, but I couldn't help to wonder why this "second" gift had come. I had already received a package with a gift wrapped mailed by Aunt Melda. So, with all my sentimental thoughts of how great a family I have, I started to unwrap the notebook... as I opened the wrapping the back of the book was the first thing I saw, and I thought... wow, they sent a photo album, it will be great to look through the photos, but why not just send me a CD, then I turned the book over and saw the front with the three hearts on in with "Mom, Jen and Mike" inside them... I thought 'what's this'... then I opened to the front letter from Aunt Melda...YIKES!! The tears began to roll, and for the next three hours, I poured through the book page by page, reading each email and crying... you all are the BEST!! Not sure what I ever did to deserve your love but appreciate it more than I can possibly express and will work everyday to do all I can to show you that! I can't wait to hold the quilts in my hands, although will ask that they stay there until I return, I couldn't bear to lose them or have them damaged over here. You all are the BEST (did I say that already?) Really, really appreciate EVERYTHING you all are doing to continue to support me! I absolutely couldn't do it without you all!

AND, if this weren't enough, as I come into the office this morning and open this email account, I have all the wonderful emails sent to me yesterday wishing me a happy birthday. And a special one from Aunt Monica showing me the results of the favor I asked of her. Thanks so very much for making my day so very special!! Even though I didn't open the notes until this morning, they really make this 41st birthday one I'll never forget!

The Lord is certainly testing me on this, I'm still overwhelmed and can't believe all the work that went into this task! THANKS so very much, and please forward this to everyone else in the family, I don't have my calendar here in the office or I would include them all on it myself. I'll never be able to thank you all enough!

I LOVE YOU ALL!!

Susie
