George Leelan Tubbs,
92, of Dade City, FL, passed away on February 9, 2025. He was born March 2, 1932, in Seffner, FL, to Albion Lorenzo Tubbs and Florence Whitman Tubbs.

George spent his early years fishing and hunting throughout central Florida. He served in the U.S. Army, was stationed in Korea during the early to mid-1950s, and later joined the Army Reserves for a few years.

He married Margie H. Burney in 1956, and they raised their daughter, Paula, in the Tampa and Land O’Lakes area. George was a wonderful husband, father, brother, and uncle. His profession as a skilled tile setter for residential and commercial construction had him working throughout the Greater Tampa Bay area and beyond.

George is survived by his daughter, Paula Barthle (Ralph), his sister, Lucy Kelly, and numerous nieces and nephews.

George is predeceased by his parents, Albion and Florence Tubbs; his wife, Margie H. Tubbs; his siblings and their spouses, Pearl McGahee (Ed), Edith Newman (Paul), Everett Tubbs (Anna), Mabel Harris (James); and his brother-in-law, Stafford Kelly.

Family and friends are invited to a Vigil Service at Sacred Heart Church, 32145 Saint Joe Road, Dade City, FL on Thursday, February 20, 2025.

Visitation at 5:00 p.m. Rosary at 6:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church on Friday, February 21, 2025, at 10:30 a.m.

The Rite of Committal and burial will be held at Sacred Heart Cemetery following the Mass.

Paula's Mother-
TUBBS, Margie Helen Burney,
73, of Dade City, Fla., died April 30, 2011, with her family by her side. She was born January 1, 1938, in Alva, Fla., to Napolean Paul and Laura Dean Christmas Burney.

She owned Margie Tubbs Accounting for over 40 years, serving businesses and individuals in Pasco and surrounding counties.

She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, George L. Tubbs; daughter, and son-in-law, Paula and Ralph Barthle of Dade City; sister and brother-in-law, Mary L. and Sy Dehn of Apollo Beach, Fla.; sisters-in-law, Pearl McGahee of Shelby, N.C., and Lucy (Junior) Kelly of Thonotosassa, Fla.; nephews, Paul (Wendy) Stanley of Dade City, John Stanley, and James Stanley; and many other friends and family.

She was predeceased by her parents, and brother, John D. Burney of Lutz, Fla.

She was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Saint Joseph, Fla.

A memorial gathering will take place 5-7 p.m. Monday, May 2, with a wake service at 6 p.m., and a Rosary at 6:30 p.m.

A memorial mass will take place at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 3,with a reception following.

Both services will take place at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 32145 Saint Joe Road, Dade City, FL 33525.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sacred Heart building fund.
