The life of Nicholas Andrew Barthle-Bartyczak
(The son of Laurie Barthle & Tony Bartyszak Jr )
"SPC Nicholas Barthle"
I was born on the 13th of September 1990 about 8 PM at Edwards AFB near Ridgecrest California. In my youth I traveled around frequently as my parents were in the Military. My mother was Enlisted and was part of the Signal Corps as a cable dog and my father a graduate of West Point was an Officer. I grew up in New York with my mother and stepfather where I graduated from Washingtonville High School in 2009. I also graduated from a 2 year AutoCAD course in Architectural Engineering and Civil Engineering and became NOCTI (National Occupational Competency Testing Institute) certified in those areas in 2009.
I joined the Military and left for Basic Training at FT Benning, GA in July, 2009. After graduating Basic Training I went to AIT at FT Gordon, GA from October 2009 to July 2010 to earn the MOS 25S, Satellite Communications Technician and Operator.
In August 2010 I was assigned to C. Company 57th ESB Ft Hood, Texas where I was assigned to a Tactical
Satellite Team in First Platoon. I was a part of many field exercises and events where I not only worked on our Phoenix terminal, but cross-trained on the SSS and CPN equipment to accomplish the mission at hand. I was slotted to deploy with C Company in support of Operation Enduring Freedom at the beginning of 2012, but due to a mission that supported a Special Forces Operation in Cuba, I was pulled from the deployment. Since that time I have traveled to Ft Huachuca for additional training on the Phoenix and work on the QBS system multiple times.
My short term goals are to fulfill my contract with the military and go to college full time to earn a Master’s Degree in Engineering. More specifically in the areas of Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering and Architectural Engineering. I also aspire for degrees in the areas of computer science and applied math. My long term goal is to obtain a job as a structural engineer in Florida and to completely design my house from the ground up.
