JEROME PAUL CARR
July 14, 1966 - May 9, 2011
Jerry was born at MacDill AFB, the third child of Connie and the late David H. Carr. When he was a year old, he moved with his military family to Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He entered kindergarten in Tampa, but wouldn't go to school without his little sister, Kathy. They sat side-by-side for the entire year. Jerry's family moved to Germany when he was in second grade. He also spent a year in school in Fort Benning, Georgia, before did retired from the military and they to Land O'Lakes. Jerry graduated in 1986 from Land O’Lakes High School where he met the love of his life, Kelly. They were married in 1989 and the rest is history. Jerry worked man tears for Sheppard Electric and in the construction industry.
Survivors include:
His wife -Kelly Jorden Carr; children - Jessica and Noah; mother - Connie Carr; brothers and sisters - Mary Stanley, Toe Carr, Kathy Himes and Thom Carr; father-in-law - Kenneth Jorden; sisters-in-law - Kimberly Jorden, Kandace Jorden Campbell and Kristine Jorden Miller; many nieces and nephews that he loved dearly, as well as aunts, uncles and cousins; and his beloved dogs Jersey and Oprah.
On April 29 1989, Jerry and I were united. For 22 years Jerry was a loving and supportive husband, father and best friend who could always make me smile, laugh and fell special. Jerry and I first met 25 years ago in high school and from that point forward, I knew he was my soul mate and nothing was going to interfere with that love. Jerry had the most beautiful eyes that showed so much love, warmth and happiness. He was a very laid back, kind-hearted and caring man who had never met a stranger. He would never turn his back on someone in need. Even in pain, Jerry would step up and do whatever he would to help. Jerry loved all sports, hunting and spending time with the family. On May 17, 1993, Jerry welcome the father of a beautiful baby girl name Jessica. And on April 30, 1996, he became a father again to a beautiful baby boy named Noah. Jerry was a supportive father who was always willing to play and joke around, help with homework and should we say give the answers and cheer them on throughout their life. Jerry was assistant coach for Noah's football, soccer and basketball teams and never missed a game jerry was Jessica's biggest cheerleader. In swimming, he loved standing at the end of the lane cheering her on and seeing that big smile she flashed him right before her turn. Jerry also loved volunteering as timekeeper for the Sun Lake basketball team just so he could be up close to see and cheer her on as she ran down the court. There was not a day that went by that "I love you" was not shared with each of us. We will miss, but not forget Jerry' warm loving eyes, his big smile and his contagious laugh.
Kelly Carr
From Jerry's niece...
Becca Miller:
Although I can't see you, I know you're watching over us from heaven, Uncle Jerry. You have become this family's angel, and we will keep you in our hearts forever. We love you.
Our Father, who art in heaven, hollowed be thy name; thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespasses against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours, now and forever. Amen

I am most proud of how Jerry always put his family first by spending time with them. They were always camping, hunting or just enjoying each other's company.

I really have a hard time putting my thoughts about jerry into words. We shared so much growing up being the middle kids. It was up to us to watch each other. We spent many hours in the woods of Georgia playing near the river of building our forts in the woods. I can't remember how many times we spoke of running away and living in the woods only to realize we couldn't go without Moms cooking an Dad would get real mad so we would always go home. When we were together we could do anything. We rarely told each other how much we needed the other it was just so. When I was getting ready to go to active duty we rarely spoke of the separation so I figured he was ok with it, until I called home after my first week only to find out Jerry had run away, WITH MY TRUCK!!! The first place I told them to look was in the woods where we would hunt with Grandpa. Eventually he came home and told them that's where he was. Now he has left and I want to run away, so Kelly if his truck turns up missing, check with me first. Ferry, I will always remember you and only regret that I didn't make more memories with you while we had the chance.
Love always, your Big Brother Joe
Jerry was my best friend growing up. Everyone thought we were twins although he was 18 months older than me. We shared so many memories and I knew he was always just a phone call away. He always had a big smile on his face and would do anything for anyone. My heart breaks to think that I can’t just pick up the phone and call him. I love you and miss you so deeply.
Kathy
Jerry was a great big brother. He was kind and patient. Despite my fear of water, Jerry had the patience to take the time and teach me to swim.
