age 77, Jacksonville, FL passed away Monday, April 14, 2003 at his residence. Mr. Hankins was a native of Tampa, FL and has lived in Jacksonville for the last 26 years moving from Wildwood, FL. He was retired from CSX Seaboard Coastline Railroad after 40 years of service as a master mechanic, a US Coast Guard veteran of WWII and enjoyed woodworking.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Dolores R. Hankins, 4 sons: Richard (Rosemary), Kenneth (Kathy), Eric (Gail) and Wayne Hankins (Shelia); a daughter, Nancy Hankins Schwartz (Mark); 15 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday, April 21, 2003 at 9:00 AM in Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church with Father Tom Willis officiating followed by interment in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL at 2:30 PM. The family will receive friends at Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL (781-4314) on Sunday from 3:00-5:00 PM with Vigil services at 4:30 PM. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations to Community Hospice of Northeast Florida or Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church Building Fund.
