The life of Andrew Francis Barthle
(The sixth son of John R & Mary Barthle)
"Andrew Francis Barthle"
Andy
Feb 07, 1932 - Apr 22, 2023
Barthle, Andrew Francis, 91, of Dade City, FL passed away on April 22, 2023.
Andrew was born on Feb 7, 1932, in Dade City, FL
to parents John R. Barthle & Mary (Blommel).

He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Patricia A. Barthle. He is survived by his sister; Antoinette Legere; his sister Elizabeth Guertin; and nine children and their spouses, Jeff Barthle (Martha), Kathy Holland (Cal), Jerry Barthle (Debbie), Mike Barthle, Patrick Barthle (Julie), Michelle Collins (Tim), Andrew Barthle (Laura), William Barthle (Sharon), and Suzanne Pittman (Sidney); 17 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

His chosen profession was carpentry. He worked for local builders and took great pride in his skill. Often, he would reminisce about projects he worked on in town as he drove by them. A highlight for him was helping to install the horse statue at Little Everglades Ranch in Dade City. A bonus was getting to enjoy the beautiful property and watching the wildlife.

Andrew and Patricia were members of Sacred Heart Catholic Church for more than 60 years. Where he was a eucharistic minister and usher. Andrew also served in the Men’s club and was a sponsor of the Youth Group. He and Patricia enjoyed chaperoning the CYO trips and activities. A highlight for him was chaperoning the altar boys camp out. He enjoyed fishing early in preparation for the weekend adventures. The boys would rush to be first in line to fish with him.

He was active in coaching his son’s baseball teams in San Antonio. Andrew was known for his soft voice and patience when working with children.

Andrew served in the Army. When speaking about his days in the service he often mentioned sending his pay home to his mother, attending church while on base and his bus ride when he returned home.

He was an avid outdoorsman who loved spending time in the woods. This began as a young boy and it continued into his adult life. Three years ago, his grandson Jacob took him hunting, and at 88 years old he harvested an 8-point buck. The smile on his face was infectious! He often took his children, teaching them the skills of hunting and fishing. Passing down the traditions and love for the outdoors. His favorite story to tell was about being surrounded by beautiful blue birds one early morning and feeling at total peace while watching them.
